"Sunshine on a rainy day"

So it's been a while since my last post...apologies, but hopefully it's worth the wait.  Spring seems to have finally sprung, yes I say spring because this is still not summer (in my eyes).  On the day I wore this look we experienced at least 3 of the 4 seasons, hence the theme "Sunshine on a rainy day".  This pop of colour was necessary to brighten up the grey skies.

I purchased this dress from asos, a couple years ago, for a holiday to Miami.  However, on this particular day I was heading into the city for dinner and cocktails.  A sun dress, with low cut out back, it's certainly geared more towards summer time, but with simple layering it can be worn year round.  When I buy an item I always question "Can I wear this from season to season?".  If not it's unlikely I'll buy it.  OK there's the odd item that may only be worn at certain times of year, like my furs for example, but when it comes down to this dress, a change of footwear with these hidden platform ankle boots instead of a barely there sandal and this wool coat instead of a biker jacket can help me to transition throughout the year nicely.

So the next time you're out shopping, think about whether you can wear that item year round, if you choose too.  Unsure how you could make it work?...Well that's where I come in ;)
