"Sunkissed"

How amazing is this weather! The hottest day of the year so far (tomorrow is set to be even warmer) and I had the "pleasure" of spending it in the office.  29 degrees recorded outside and 25 degrees inside. There was no escaping the heat of the summer sun.  Today's motto was 'keep cool and carry on'.  My commute started and ended with delays. The wrong type of sun maybe!?!?  My train was packed.  Very little air circulating through the carriage. Too many bodies to count. Shirt's drenched in sweat (theirs not mine) and odours that have no place in public presence at 7.30am or at all in fact! Thankfully I narrowly avoided any physical contact.

Dressing for 9-5 when the weather is so scorchio poses it's challenges. I'm lucky that we have a relaxed smart casual policy, year round. I feel for those of you who need to maintain the "dress code: smart" all year round as a tailored dress suit is not very accommodating in this clime.  However there are ways to 'keep cool and carry on' whilst remaining professional in your attire. Take this skirt for example. Sheer, pleated, figure flattering.  You could also pair it with a silk blouse if a bodysuit is not for you. It's pure sartorial elegance.
